"Frivolity is a healthy attitude" - Karl Lagerfeld
The world's top models paraded in the most beautiful fabrics whilst having to put up wtih clunky weird shoes and a bob wig that made them look like anime characters. Frivolous yes, confusing definitely.
This is the third collection in a row from Lagerfeld's Chanel that I have um...failed to connect with. Perhaps his genius has reached such a point that us mere mortals can no longer understand the ideas behind his designs =/
I'm just kidding. They weren't all that bad. Actually I LOVED the pastel tweeds and the gold embroidery details, very Marie Antoinette (the Sofia Coppola version), and some of the accessories, especially the cuffs, are simply to die for!
But to get to that level of beauty we had to sift through clunky sneaker-like shoes (seriously that is so not Chanel), weird 3/4 cropped pants and double denim (gah!). Hence the overall verdict - confusing.
What do you think about this resort collection?

Beauty: the little interlocking Cs tattoo underneath the eye was a very nice touch. Discreet facial tattoos - perhaps the next big beauty trend?
Below are the looks that really baffled me:
