modern tailoring| Jil Sander Spring 2012

From futuristic shapes to 1950s tailoring, Raf Simons latest collection have all the critics raving. But that's not all that's buzzing in Milan right now: rumours are circling around  the fashion world that Raf Simons is to replace Stefano Pilati as the new head of Yves Saint Laurent. This was news so big that even Business of Fashion, an online publication that tends to shy away from "breaking news", felt the need to report it.

Back to this collection described as "the last in my couture trilogy" by the designer himself. White seeming to dominate again, with last season's big maxi skirts carried over in the form of floor length dresses. Prints were Paisley, checkered and Picasso-inspired and the colours: bottle green, sky blue and even a spot of hot pink. Overall, an amazing collection for its simplicity and elegance.
