One day back in 2004, I came across this website called Style.com. It changed my life forever.
While that might sound a bit dramatic, the truth is, Style.com was the portal that introduced me to the world of fashion. Back then I was a 14 year-old who didn't really know what fashion was, had never picked up a copy of Vogue but somehow I stumbled across Style.com during one of my after-school home alone days and started clicking through the images. Soon I learnt about Chanel's tweed jackets, John Galliano's origami gowns for Christian Dior, Valentino's red dress and Alexander McQueen's other-worldly creations inspired by ideas that I could never quite understand.

Throughout the years, as Style.com published every single runway look from the fashion capitals of the world, I started to learn about the different seasons, how trends can start from one single runway and ripple across the global fashion industry. How fashion month always started in New York and finished up in Paris with the craziest, most creative and beautiful pieces that you could ever find in this world.
There was the year when Burberry created fashion history by streaming their runway LIVE to a global audience and allowing customers to order pieces straight from the runway. There was Frida Giannini's ground breaking first collection for Gucci, Marc Jacob's farewell runway for Louis Vuitton, and John Galliano's return from fashion exile as the creative director of Maison Martin Margiela. And then of course, the explosion of street style thanks to the likes of the Sartorialist and Tommy Ton, which gave birth to the phenomenon of fashion bloggers. These are just snippets of the many moments in fashion history captured on Style.com.

Writers including Nichole Phelps, Sarah Mower and Tim Blanks taught me everything from fabrics and designers to fashion history infused by pop culture. As styleblazer aptly noted:
"The website has been the destination for self-taught fashionistas to click through for a daily course in fashion"
To Style.com, thank you for opening our eyes to the wonderful world of fashion runways, for transporting us to New York, London, Milan and Paris with you year after year.
To Vogue Runways, the new voice taking the reins of Style.com - you've got some seriously tall stiletto heels to fill.
xoxo
