art of the scarf
I don't normally follow menswear. Not that I'm not interested, but I do feel that it's hard to have much of a say on something that you don't wear. Granted, menswear use to be quite the niche topic. But things are different nowadays. Men are more style conscious, and are more willing to engage in discussions about style. Which is why I thought it is about time that Kaleidoscope of Fashion started featuring menswear. After all, in looking through a kaleidoscope, you can always find something different.
From the Fall 2015 season that had just wrapped up in Paris last month, my favourite collection was Hermès, for its fresh take on the scarf. Traditionally a scarf is draped on top of a blazer, tucked into the folded lapels of a coat or wrapped around for a more casual look. Hermès' latest runway features a wrap around + knot to the side scarf look which brings a fresh update to an autumn wardrobe, especially for those wearing a suit. Keep it simple by pairing a scarf in a complementary shade to the suit or go for a bold pattern if you're in the mood for making a statement.
Other favourite trends from the show include asymmetric zip details and patterned leather cardigans.
