postcards | Hobbiton

On our way from Auckland to Rotorua, we stopped off at Bilbo's house.

Well this place really needs no introduction, this is of course the set of Hobbiton from the Lord of the Rings series and more recently, the Hobbit series. Even as a non-LOTR fan, it was a really fun tour. It's a great chance to meet other travellers as well, as we had people in our tour group from places like Argentina, Germany and the US. Your group is also led by a tour guide with a quintessential Kiwi accent, which doubles the fun. As for the actual tour, I will let the photos speak for itself!

Look for this Hobbiton-themed iSite when you first reach Matamata.

If you're ever in New Zealand, this place is well worth a visit. You can even go on the tour dressed up as your favourite LOTR character!

xoxo
