Roomies - with Bec, Dahna and Annabelle in Monaco
One thing I love about Europe is how much the landscape and mood changes between countries. While Barcelona (see previous post) had a very festive vibe, lots of noise and things to see, the French Riviera was all about the luxurious beach lifestyle.
We arrived in Nice to find a long stretch of beautiful blue water (no wonder the name is Cote d'Azur) and a beach filled with not sand, but pebbles! The pebble beach was surprisingly comfortable to relax on, but people here seem to prefer foam beach mats rather than just lying on a towel. Unfortunately I got so excited about the pebble beach that I actually slipped on a set of stairs going down to the beach and fell, in front of everyone who was watching at the time. It was just a little bit embarrassing -.-

The French Riviera was the first stop where we had the chance to have a good sleep in, and just spend the day lazing around the beach or the pool. It was also the first chance we had to really dress up for our visit to Monaco and the famous Monte Carlo Casino. Unfortunately I only took my phone with me that night so apologies for the poor photo quality.
The casino itself was a bit of a meh...it was unexpectedly small but still grand in it's own way and unsurprisingly, expensive. But what I loved about Monte Carlo were all the amazing cars parked outside the hotels. Even though I don't know much about cars I knew that we were looking at some of the world's best - shiny Ferraris, old school Mercedes and a black carbon matte finish Lamborghini that had it's very own photographer (a girl dressed in white sequins with a huge camera). We later found out that there are only 25 of those Lamborghinis in the world!
Of course I had to snap a few shots of the Chanel store in Monaco - the first Chanel store I saw on the trip, how cool is that lion!

Travel tip:
If gambling is not your thing, try visiting Monte Carlo during the day when all the shops are still open and you can spend the day browsing through the world's finest luxury brands in some very beautiful stores. Also remember to bring your passport with you as you will need it to get into the casino!
Next stop: Florence, Italy
