fashion in motion|

In just 55 seconds, this clever ad from Net-a-Porter has managed to capture the desire and love for beautiful bags of women all around the world...well at least that's what the ad did to me when I first watched it!! I'm sharing with you a few of my favourite fashion ads this season. This Net-a-Porter bag guide has to be my no.1 favourite ad this year- it's innovative, short and does exactly what it's supposed to do - sell the bags. You'll be surprised how many ads end up sending the wrong message (next time you're watching TV, just stay and watch the ad breaks and you'll see what I mean). Another one of my favourite is of course, the Lanvin A/W 2011 campaign, with Karen Elsen and Raquel Zimmerman breaking out the dance moves and Alber Elbaz making a hilarious cameo. I'm sure you've seen this one floating around blogs!

Okay I know it's just a little bit stupid but hey, it's Lanvin! I think we were all just surprised that such a sartorially serious brand could come out with a campaign such as this. This Lanvin film was ranked as no.1 in this season's edition of Top 10 Fashion Films on Business of Fashion. Coming in at no.2 is the Prada film, which the people at BoF obviously love but to be honest, it is kind of creepy... it is beautiful, exquisite, delicate, all the things that Prada attempts to convey but I do find that this ad gives me goose bumps.

Did you find that Prada ad slightly creepy too? To help you get rid of those goose bumps, here's a futuristic take on CHANEL beauty. It is by far the cleverest beauty ad I've seen, very upbeat too :)

and finally my favourite fashion film of all time - the CHANEL No. 5 ad starring Audrey Tatou. Yes I know it's not really from this year but it is simply timeless. Enjoy! x

P.S: apologies for the misalignment of videos, I'm not too sure why blogspot is not cooperating with me : /

kaleidoscope of fashion on Polyvore

Summer romance

I really should be studying for exams right and staying away from anything fashion BUT, I'm sure we all know that's not going to happen haha. Recently discovered Polyvore!! It's amazing in that it lets you create magazine-like pages, either using your own layout or something else's; and they've got just about the biggest range of product photos I've ever seen! From high street brands to big name designer brands, this website has got me hooked! I've created about 5 sets in the past few days, sometimes staying up late just to create more sets =P yes I'm just a little bit obsessed! Here's a few of the sets I've created recently, if you want to see more head over to my Polyvore profile!  Don't forget to check out my "Amazing Blogs" list as well, found just to the right of this post on this blog, it's been updated recently with new additions. Hope you're having a good weekend! x

Frida Gustavsson|

Photographed by Andreas Öhlund for Elle Sweden
New favourite model - Frida Gustavsson
(I call her "the next Abbey Lee")
Super short post today because I can't think of much to say, my brain is full of tax law and finance words and they're pretty boring so I won't bore you with the details and just let you enjoy the pictures instead. Btw, who is your favourite model at the moment? x

Pretty little things|

Found these on Jazart Design Studio's facebook page today. The first photo reminds me so much of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. Sofia Coppola is one of my favourite film directors (she was the woman behind "Lost in Translation", the movie that catapulted Scarlett Johansson to fame) and the costumes in her Marie Antoinette period film were so exquisite and beautiful. Think I'll have to post about it soon. In the mean time, check out Jazart Design Studio if you like and the blog http://www.jazartdesignstudio.blogspot.com/ :) x

Harmony to my heartbeat|

Photographed by Emily McCoy

Spontaneous photo shoot #2 is here! This one was taken at my friend Tess' 21st birthday the other night. I was worrying about how I haven't had time to do a shoot lately because of all these assignments, and we thought oh why not just do one here! So there we were taking random photos, til we went into the ladies room and found this gorgeous, tangerine-coloured wall!! The theme for the party was "black and white with a speck of colour" so the tangerine walls created perfect contrast for the outfit.

Here I'm wearing my very first Forever New dress, bought last year as part of my "uniform" when I worked in store as a sales assistant. For my "specks of colour" I chose my new favourite Dangerfield bag and trusty CHANEL lipstick. By trusty lipstick I mean I can eat an entire Korean BBQ meal with all the sauces and everything and the lipstick and its full colour would still be perfect at the end of the meal. Don't you just love CHANEL? :)

I did another photo shoot today. This time it was a fashion shoot for my best friend Jaz (pictured below) for her graduation project. She's a very talented textiles designer and made a garment out of her own fabric design. It is amazing but I'm not allowed to post it yet until she gives me the "okay" so you'll have to wait :)
Below are some party shots that Emily took before we found the tangerine walls, she loves photographing people and is currently specialising in Portraits and Events. Feel free to check out her facebook page EMC Photography to see more of her shots.

la petite galerie #2|

Had a slight break today from studying and found these cute bags on Romwe.com, an online store specialising in street-fashion. I love how unique some of these bags are, like the one with the spike handle or the little furry "bucket".

Will be posting a photo shoot soon! x

moments in fashion| Ralph Lauren

In a digital age where everything is in colour, sometimes the classic black and white can be surprisingly refreshing. This collection of photos were found on a tumblr blog, captured during this year's Ralph Lauren Spring 2012 show. The black and white gives this modern show a 1920s mood, and helps bring out the intricate beading and movement of feathers. I love how each photo is so beautiful and unique, you can almost frame them as artworks. So stunning. x

Chanel Spring 2012 | Under the Sea

Always the most anticipated show of the season, Monsieur Lagerfeld wows the fashion world again with another stunning collection. Pale tweed suits, translucent dresses and silver booties were all inspired by those forgotten creatures inhabiting the bottom of the sea. When asked why he chose this theme, Lagerfeld replied "The ocean is the same all over the world...in fact the oldest things are the most modern".
