Style Inspiration | clashing florals

This is Camille, a 23 year-old fashion designer/occasional model from Manila. She is one of the many amazing people I follow on Lookbook (check out her page here). I love this outfit with its clashing floral prints and bright pink shoes. Florals have always been the staple in Spring, but pink is huge this season, we're already seeing it everywhere from Tony Bianco to Wittner and of course ASOS, obviously this is coming straight off the colour blocking trend in New York! What I love most is her use of accessories, she always wears piles of bangles and rings but always manages to make it look just right and not overtly excessive, definitely taking a tip from this for my next shoot!

meet Roseanne|

Just wanted to come and share a link with you all: this is the site of beauty blogger Roseanne Tang. I met her a few weeks ago in Retail Management and got curious after I saw her blogging about makeup tips during our lecture break. Little did I know that she is one of Singapore's top beauty bloggers! I haven't had time to thoroughly check it out yet, but her mini-feeds on her facebook page have already got me intrigued!

Enjoy!

retro glam| Dangerfield Spring 2011

I went into Dangerfield today and fell in love with the 3rd dress from the above photos before I saw this campaign posted on their facebook page!! Their modern retro style is perfect for those days when you want to wear something pretty or a little different. I use to think that Dangerfield is just for people who are into punk fashion and combat boots and studded belts (and hardcore rock music) but this collection and some the other girly dresses in store seems to prove otherwise =)

shoulder cut-outs|

Found this post on style.com today about the shoulder cut-out trend; it's been around for a while but still such a classic. I think shoulders are one of the best features of the body to show off and still look extremely classy. Reminds me of this black and white top that I had when I was 14, which exposed the shoulders through a white singlet hidden underneath a stretchy, black cotton top that sat horizontal across the collarbone. I use to love it so much that I wore it everywhere until the fabric was so worn out that I couldn't wear it anymore (its still in my wardrobe somewhere, never had the heart to chuck it out).
I recently bought a black shirt from Sportsgirl with shoulder splits so big that I think I'll have to try and sew some buttons on it, although sewing has never been my forte and I still don't know how to make button holes in clothes; guess we'll just see how it goes! If it turns out well I might even blog about it in a shoot :)

"three owls"
I took this the other day in Strategic Management with Duo (as you do in lectures), it's the cover of my notebook, cute isn't it :) we decided that the top owl with the headphones is Duo, the one perched on the branch in the middle is our friend Desy and the bottom one with the camera is me. I met both girls at uni and they have made my uni life that much more enjoyable; I know that I will miss them dearly after graduation <3

feels like Spring|

I finally had a day off today, no uni and no work, it sure feels good! Decided to do a shoot with Richard and my new red pleated maxi skirt. My aunt in China has her own fashion label and this is one of her samples. I love the mini pleats and the colour is so lively and vibrant, makes me think of cherry tomatoes.
I'm still playing around with the ideal blogging sizes for these photos, the original quality is so much better but I don't know how to replicate that on the blog without the photos being so big that they spill over the edge, so bear with me while I figure it all out!
