In a digital age where everything is in colour, sometimes the classic black and white can be surprisingly refreshing. This collection of photos were found on a tumblr blog, captured during this year's Ralph Lauren Spring 2012 show. The black and white gives this modern show a 1920s mood, and helps bring out the intricate beading and movement of feathers. I love how each photo is so beautiful and unique, you can almost frame them as artworks. So stunning. x

Chanel Spring 2012 | Under the Sea
Always the most anticipated show of the season, Monsieur Lagerfeld wows the fashion world again with another stunning collection. Pale tweed suits, translucent dresses and silver booties were all inspired by those forgotten creatures inhabiting the bottom of the sea. When asked why he chose this theme, Lagerfeld replied "The ocean is the same all over the world...in fact the oldest things are the most modern".

Haider Ackermann Spring 2012
Remember what I said in my last trend update about Power Dressing? Haider Ackermann is one of those Parisian talents pioneering this trend. Fluid fabrics coupled with slouching pants and strong suiting silhouettes, Ackermann continues with his signature looks for Spring 2012. One big difference about his shows? The models walk in flats :)

turning 21 |
Something to celebrate this weekend - my 21st birthday! Decided to do a post featuring some of the party photos with my best girlfriends (boys were there as well), they all looked amazing and I loved how each one had their own unique style. I wore a dress from Lipsy London (bought on ASOS) which originally was meant to be worn at the Commerce Ball; silly me forgot to look at the sizing properly and had to return it all the way to the UK for an exchange, but it turned out to be the perfect birthday dress for a night of dancing.

the 1st cake - strawberry gateau yum!
big balloons - it sure was fun taking them home!
2nd cake - black forest chocolate sponge double yum!
I was lucky enough to get two cakes - one for Friday night and one for Saturday night to share at our family birthday feast. There was so much food!!!! But I guess that's to be expected in an Asian household :) thank you Mum and Dad for your awesome cooking skills!
Photos for both events were taken by Richard, who was introduced to family friends and even slept over at my house after =O almost unheard of in a Chinese family hahaha. He and many of my friends have also spoiled me with presents: perfumes, jewellery, clutch, books, cocktail shakers, tea set, gift cards, candle trays and a Zara scarf! It certainly was one of the best weekends I had ever had :)
Something else worth celebrating - my very first fan on Lookbook! I was actually considering suspending my lookbook account last week, but my new fan has given me an extra dose of inspiration to power on and do more photo shoots. Exams are coming up but hopefully I'll find time to do a shoot soon! Enjoy the pictures for now. x
